Well, I was interested before, but man, this has risen to my must watch list of 2017.

Some of you may not be aware of this, but this film is within the same universe as the 2014 Godzilla film, no seriously. This trailer which showcases King Kong in full glory, within multiple shots, exists in the same universe as that Gareth Edwards film, where Godzilla hardly appeared, mind boggling isn't it? Joking aside, I loved that movie, I'm just amazed this film didn't decide to go forward with a partially seen Kong, like that one decided to do a partially seen Godzilla. Also kind of odd, is this version of Kong standing upright all throughout? It's not awful, I'm just unsure if it'll look right when all is said and done, personally I prefer Kong to move a bit more ape-like, yes I'm aware that Kong has stood upright before, but there's more charm to the ape when he moves like an ape.

Outside of Kong, I am curious about everything this movie is offering, the actors all look good, especially John Goodman and Samuel L. Jackson. I sincerely hope Goodman and Jackson share a lot of scenes arguing, that looks like a ton of fun, also a ton of fun? John C. Reily, who I had not known was in the film. Reily is an odd presence, in fact it took me multiple views to fully appreciate the humor he brings in this, but I love it, he's been in this island for quite some time, it makes sense he's gone a bit mad.

But if you thought Kong was the only monster here, you clearly haven't seen other Kong films, Skull Island is crawling with the beasts including ones called "Skull Crawlers" by Reily, at least until he decides that sounds stupid, telling the leads "call them whatever you want", like I said, odd presence. Whatever the case, they all look cool and I can't wait to see them and Kong when this comes out, give the trailer a watch if you haven't I'm sure you'll agree.
